Email Services will not be Active on the Hosting Account

Our hosting accounts will intentionally have email services disabled.  There are multiple reasons for this.
1.     Running email services with spam filtering on the same account that hosts your site takes away crucial system resources that are better served keeping your site’s performance up.
2.    There are 3rd party email services that are far superior to the email that would be included with the default hosting account configuration.
3.    There are liability issues with hosting email on a server that we would prefer not to deal with.

We recommend the use of Google Apps for an extremely affordable and effective email solution that works for most small-mid size businesses.  Google Apps can be configured for use with your domain name (mail@mydomain.com), has very effective SPAM filtering, a nice webmail interface, threaded messages, a shared calendar, and allows for 100 mailboxes for free.

Dedicated IP Address

You may not realize it, but most shared hosting accounts also share a single IP address among dozens of other accounts.  In this scenario your site may be sharing an IP with websites of all sorts of varied genres and reputations.  There is some belief (not consensus) that search engine ranking algorithms also show some favor to sites that use unique IP addresses.
